... what can I say?... I just can't seem to ever stray too far away from my collection of vintage sheeting!... There is something about these bright floral prints, often very simple, comforting as they hark back to my childhood (and maybe yours as well...), always putting a smile on my face... So, yes, I pulled them out (again!!...) and imagined a summery and cheery patchwork coverlet, which I then had a lot of fun putting together and which I'm sharing with you today...
... from different angles to try to give you a good look at the selection of prints I used...

... What do you think?... As you can see, I have thrown into the mix some more neutral-looking squares in clay-grey tones to give the patchwork what I think is a simpler and fresher look -- if you take a look below, some of these are nicely textured...
... while others are delicately patterned...
I've also repeated the simple geometric with what looks like #'s (which you can see in the foreground of the photo below) throughout the patchwork which I also think helps keep it all simple and fresh...
All three layers of the patchwork coverlet -- patchwork top, cotton batting and backing fabric -- are all tied...
... with 4-ply cotton yarn in a lovely natural colour...
For the first time, I backed a coverlet with yummy cotton velvet which I've been wanting to do for a while now and which I'd love to show you, but forgot to take photos of, so I'll leave it to another post...Instead, more shots of vintage love...

I hope you've enjoyed my patchwork share... I will be listing a bundle of this patchwork in my Etsy shop very soon as part of my Stitch and Give fundraising venture, so please stay tuned! Thanks so much to all of you who purchased a Flower-ish bundle - enough funds were raised to support one child throughout an entire school year via Backpack Buddies! A big thanks for popping by and wishing you all a sweet July!...
