...just like me, is where I figure this post may be finding some of you... How are you doing in this new normal of ours? I have a feeling that this will be our way of life for the next few months -- what do you think?...
As we began social distancing, one of my friends told me that I am fortunate to have lots of fabric and wool at my finger tips -- very true, I do feel thankful for that! Though I do have to confess that despite my plentiful yarn stock at home, I did make one final run to local yarn shops just before they shuttered their doors. In part, I did so to stock up on some finer weight wool (the yummy stuff in the basket...) which seems to have become my new favourite yarn weight of late. I also did so in support of these cherished local small businesses that I fear are going to have a very rough few months ahead of them, especially as many of them are not set up for e-commerce; I do hope they survive... While I have been spending a lot of time with hook and yarn, playing around with new ideas as well as writing up new patterns...
...I have also been doing lots of spring work in my garden, more than I've ever done in previous years; I'm being more thorough this year, preparing my garden beds like I've always wanted to and regretted not having done so come June... With fewer distractions, I've also decided to grow all my veggies and flowers from seeds instead of buying seedlings, something I haven't done in a long while; I can't tell you how excited I get when I spot a new sprout...
I've always loved working in my garden, but now, more than ever, I am so thankful that I can spend time in these lovely and soothing surroundings...
I do hope you and your family are staying very safe and healthy (both physically and mentally...). Thank you, as always, for your visits here and to rose.hip (Instagram)... Stay in touch.
