...is how I would describe my summer up until now if you were to ask me right now (mind you, I do have peaches on my brain because I have been savouring the most succulent British Columbia grown peaches in the last few days and I just stuffed a bunch into a yummy peach and berry crumble pie!)... I've been at the cottage since July, enjoying the company of visiting friends and family, and just loving every moment spent in our lovely lake and hanging out outdoors which probably explains why I haven't been doing many rose hippy things and posting on this blog of mine! However, I did finally get around to taking photos of some new pillowcases I've been working on in the last while which I thought I would show you...
I also have another batch ready to be photographed which I hope to do in the next few days...
So, what have I been up to aside from just simply enjoying summer (much too short of a season in our part of the world!) with family and friends?... Well, I haven't been spending too much time sitting in this lovely flower power chair of mine...
...as I have been mostly outdoors working in my garden, mostly in an around my new veggie and berry plot which I have yet to show you photos of, but promise I will very soon... However, as I look at the photos above and below, I'm thinking to myself that I should spend some time sitting in this nook before summer is out, especially in the morning as it gets the loveliest morning light which is when these two photos were taken; I love the way the sun is shining on one of my favourite houseplants, a streptocarpus, which I brought from the city to spend the summer with me at the lake (needless to say, if I hadn't, I doubt it would still be alive right now!)...
In the last couple of days though, I've been completely on my own at the lake and I pulled out some of my vintage linens, gently washed them, and hung them outside to brighten them up...
I do have some definite ideas as to what I'd like to do with these treasures, but dare I cut into them?! They do look so lovely on the clothesline, wouldn't you agree?...
So, do stay tuned to what I make of these newly whitened lovelies and, in case some of you may be wondering, I have started to list my new batch of pillowcases in my Etsy shop and will be doing so for the next while... Well, that's all from me for now and I hope to be back soon with photos from my new garden plot... Thanks for popping by and happy summer (no, it's not quite over yet!!)...
