...have so far all come from my garden at the lake; I haven't looked at any colour palettes in fabric nor yarn since the end of June when I moved to the lake for the summer, as I've spent most of my time up until now either working in my garden or enjoying the lake with a bunch of visiting family and friends...
The bulk of my garden work here right now is all in my newly enclosed veggie and berry garden -- yes, the anti-deer enclosure which you can see below is all finished and it is absolutely fabulous thanks to my lovely husband and helping friends! I will dedicate an entire post to it very soon and show you what it all looks like in detail; needless to day, my once sad pot-bound tomatoes are finally happy as they can now stretch themselves out and bask in the hot summer sun!
As to my flower garden, all my usual lovelies are showing their fair faces with bee balm (monarda) very resolutely dominating the display to the delight of all the bees and hummingbirds. My butterfly bushes are just on the verge of erupting with sweet colour and scent and this, coupled with an impending second flush of my deep pink rugosa roses which ramble through these bushes, will make for a very lovely and exquisitely fragrant midsummer at the lake...
I expanded my flower and herb border near the house at the end of last summer and added some new herbs to my collection, such as the wonderfully aromatic French tarragon and the graceful variety of oregano below...
...which I have such a crush on at the moment, but cannot remember its name nor find the label I purchased it with -- would any of you know it?...
Well, whatever its name may be, if I spot it again in a nursery, I will grab a few more plants of it as I have found that, not only is it a great addition to my recipes with its flavourful leaves, but it also adds lovely interest to my borders with its delicate appearance and striking colour palette...
So while I haven't been near fabric nor yarn since coming to the lake, this is all about to change in a jiffy since, as soon as I'm done writing this post, I will start working on a batch of new pillowcase styles. In case some of you may be wondering, I have begun restocking my shop with pillowcases, albeit not any new styles as of yet; hopefully I will be able to take photos of the new ones by the end of the week so I can post them soon... Given that my internet access is limited at the lake, I'm thinking that I will be posting more often on my Instagram and Facebook pages throughout my stay here...
I hope you've enjoyed this little colourful visit of my garden... Thanks for popping by!...
