...not so very visible around here since as I look out the window it's snowing!... We've had a bit of an atypical winter in Vancouver this year with many more snowfalls and less long and dreary spells of grey rainy weather than usual. I've quite enjoyed this weather and am not tired of it as probably a lot of Vancouverites are at this point... It's as if it's been a couple of degrees colder than it usually is, enough to change a lot of the rain into snow. (It truly is amazing how a scant 2 or 3 degrees can change the climate!...) But while I still have it in me to enjoy a few more sprinkles of snow here and there, I'm sure that a lot of you living in colder climes are done with winter and are desperately looking out for the first signs of spring... So, for all those of you who are ready for balmier weather, I thought I would bring you a touch of spring by posting a few photos today of my latest patchwork top which I think is very spring-like, don't you?...
As you can probably tell, I've used a fair bit of vintage sheeting fabric in this patchwork; in fact, when I posted photos of this patchwork on my Instagram page in the last couple of weeks, I received several comments expressing delight in having spotted childhood bedding sheets! Have a peek at it closer up...
...and even closer, here,...
...here,...
...and here...
In case you might be wondering, I will be bundling up all the yummy squares to make this patchwork and offering these bundles up for sale in my Etsy shop in about three weeks; why the delay?... Well, I'm off on a little spring break adventure with my family which I will tell you all about upon my return in a little more than a couple of weeks; in fact, if I get my act together (not always easy for me when I'm on holiday!), I might just post a few vacation shots on my Instagram page while away... Thank you for the visit, and I hope you pop by again at the end of March/beginning of April when I'll be back and hopefully the bitter cold of winter will be a thing of the past and spring with all its promise will have sprung!...
Please note that I have temporarily closed my Etsy shop until I return from holiday on March 28th; thank you so much for your amazing support of my work and I hope you pop by again once I reopen.
