...while Labour Day has come and gone, I still haven't quite moved my rose hip self back to town as I usually would have done by now because our house in town is still a construction zone; while the kitchen renovation is mostly done (a kitchen island on caster wheels still has to be built), the living room and front bedroom are down to their studs, all ready for dry-walling which should happen any day now (hopefully!). So as you can imagine, the rest of the house is cluttered with boxes and random furniture, rather frustrating to work in and even to move in in some spots!... Given that this shambolic state of affairs will probably continue until the end of the month as we still have to refinish all the wood floors on the main floor, I thought it wisest to keep all my crafty projects at the lake, and spend part of the next few weeks working on them there until we get ourselves out of our boxes in town. So, I'm off to the lake tomorrow (the photo below is a cloudy day view of our house and our little boat shed taken from the lake) after having spent this week in back-to-school mode with my kids, a bit more involved this year as I moved Alexandra (our 18-year-old) to an out-of-town university...
While at the lake, I plan to take a bunch of photos of some new crochet-trimmed pillowcases (one of which you can see below and in the first photo which, by the way, where taken in the upstairs bedroom with the large window facing the lake which you can see rather well in the photo above); I'll be listing these in my very neglected Etsy shop shortly which I plan on re-opening very soon as it seems that our postal strike has been averted. I'll also be stocking my shop with fabric bundles to make the patchwork coverlet which adorns the bed in the photos -- I'll be posting more about that very soon... I'll continue posting photos regularly on my Instagram page as I've been doing lately, especially when I'm at the lake given my limited internet access there; thank you so much to all of you who have started following me on Instagram! I hope that your September has started well and that sad thoughts brought on by the fading summer are being replaced by lovely thoughts of cocooning and crafting indoors... As always, thanks so much for taking the time to visit!...
At least the lake looks like a quiet, comfortable place to be. I could take a nap under that pretty quilt.

Gosh, your lakeside house looks dreamy. I should imagine it is the best place to be with all its prettiness while the building turmoil in town continues! Still enjoying some September sunny days though part of me is now looking forward to the cocooning and crafting that comes with autumn

Construction zones, seems like we've lived in one, well forever. Does it ever get done?! Good luck with yours!
