...you're already here -- how did that happen?!... It seems like I've been pretty busy these last couple of weeks between our kitchen renovation (sourcing everything needed for a new kitchen, from cabinet handles and tiles to range hoods, has felt like a full time job at times!...) and our house at the lake (along with the usual garden work which I love doing, a recent mouse invasion has kept me busy cleaning over there which I'm less happy about doing! ...), so much so that I'm finding it hard to believe that it's already the 8th of July today! I'm planning on spending most of my summer at the lake, so I've also been planning my exit from the city, figuring out all the bits and bobs I have to take with me so I can keep sewing, crocheting, posting, and just generally crafting things I'd like to make for our house and garden there.
In the middle of all this running around for our kitchen-to-be which you can see below in one of its less chaotic moments ( just after a first sealing of the newly sanded fir floor, original to the house, and the end of all the drywall work),...
...I took a few photos of my patchwork coverlet outdoors in our backyard (the two photos above). I've also started to make bundles of all the fabric squares needed to make this coverlet which I plan on listing in my Etsy shop.
However, I'll be holding off listing these as well as a bunch of new pillowcases because of a potential disruption of our Canadian postal service due to a lockout which might start in the next few days; at this point, I'm not quite sure if this is actually going to happen or not, but I decided to temporarily close my Etsy shop until it all gets sorted out. As soon as I'm sure that none of my packages will get stranded in some abandoned postal bin, I will re-open my shop.
I plan on posting next when I get more settled at the lake, which should happen soon enough. Due to my somewhat curtailed internet access at the lake, I'm thinking that I might post more on my Facebook and Instagram pages then on this blog once I'm there; I'm not quite sure about that yet though, but if I should decide to do so, I'll give you a heads up in my next post here. I do hope your July has started off brightly -- thank you so much for popping by!
