come in...

...and have a peek at the patchwork coverlet I recently finished...

As you can see, two crocheted cushions which I also made in the last while, similar to the purple one from this post are keeping it company on the bed. The coverlet is backed by the same corduroy fabric as I used for the two coverlets here and here, and it's also tied with cotton floss and has cotton batting between the two outer layers just like these two other coverlets. In my next post, I will show it all to you close up, but for now I have a few views of it on my daughter Nico's bed, which is in a lovely little cozy nook in her bedroom...

...and which you can see a little bit better in the shot below...

There is plenty of light that streams through the window as it's a southern exposure; the view as you look down is on our backyard which at the moment is filled with honeysuckle, mock orange, rose and jasmine blooms, so when the window is opened, especially on a balmy evening... yum, it's absolutely heavenly!

As you may be able to tell from the photos, there is quite a range in the patterns and types of fabric used (which I will also get more into in my next post), and I think that if you would grab a handful of the squares and look at them together they might not seem to go at all with each other, but once they are all sewn together, all 63 of them, somehow, they all end up blending together into a patchwork that seems to work... What do you think?
