...does the time go?!... Christmas season as well as the end of another year are here, again,... already!! I don't know about you, but I've been in a bit of denial as to all that I have to do prior to the 24th of December; I just haven't let my mind wander there yet but, by next week, I do believe I won't be able to delay any further and I'll have to get serious about my Christmas to-do list.
Of course, part of the reason that I'm not quite there as far as getting ready for Christmas is that I'm having too much fun doing other things; as usual, I'm probably going in too many different directions at once, but I can't help myself because I have too many lovely materials close at hand! For one, as you can see above, I've pulled out a lot of my yummy woollens felted from old sweaters in all sorts of delightful shades of green and I've been cutting leaves out of them; I absolutely love playing with these woolly fabric pieces which I get from shrinking sweaters in the wash because there is always so much variation between the pieces which makes whatever you're using them for that much more interesting. In case you're wondering, these leaves are part of a new project I'm working, still very much in the design phase, but hopefully something I'll be able to share with you soon enough...
While I haven't begun checking things off my "getting ready for Christmas" list, I have however been working on a Christmassy cushion which I haven't quite finished, but as soon as I do (hopefully next week), I'll post about it. Now given that the end of the year is almost here, I've also been wanting to finish some WIPs I started earlier this year like the pillowcases from way back here; while I had trimmed and listed a few of these in my Etsy shop back in the summer, I still had a nice little batch waiting to be embellished with a trim and then put into the shop.
So, one after another, I've been choosing yarn for their trims, crocheting these on, taking photos of them and listing them in my shop. I have to confess that I'm so in love with the look of trims made of linen yarn that I'm starting to use this lovely yarn for all my pillowcases; I'm finding it very hard now to go back to cotton yarn!
While I would like to see more colours available in linen yarn collections, I have however found some pretty pastel ones; these, I think, work well with a lot of the pillowcases in this batch which are very definitely spring-like in colour, such as this one made with lovely Liberty cotton in shades of blue, aqua, turquoise and green...
With their spring colors, the pillowcases in this post don't seem very in season, but then a touch of spring all year round is probably not such a bad thing, right?!...
I hope this post has found you looking forward to the upcoming holiday season and I hope you pop by again when I share with you my little Christmas project... Thanks for the visit and have a great weekend!
I always love to see your makes! The Christmas decorations can wait a bit while you bring your creative ideas to life!

All so lovely! Love the linen. I can totally relate with being pulled in so many different directions, creatively speaking. Seems when you create that's when so many ideas come.lol Wishing you and yours a very happy holiday season!

I have been happily getting ready for the festivities in a very gentle manner. Too gentle, as it is now nearly upon us! Hoping that if I manage a very organised week then I can go back to the gentle days next week...
Pretty spring-like pillowcases...
