...I have been smitten by the above fabric the moment I saw it online... Its designer, Kimberly Kight, who used to blog all about fabric on True Up (an old favourite of mine!) but now has turned to designing fabric for Cotton + Steel, first showed her new collection, Lucky Strikes, of which this pretty floral is part of back in May and I knew then that I had to get my hands on some of it when it became available in the summer! And so I did, and you can see what I made with it...
...since as soon as I saw it, I thought it would be perfect to use for a crochet-trimmed pillowcase. I think I was immediately drawn to this fabric because I think that both its dainty floral pattern and its pretty but quirky choice of colours is vintage-inspired, not surprisingly, since Kimberly Kight is a lover of vintage fabrics and regularly showcased them on her old blog. Such yummy fabric deserves yummy yarn, so to make the pillowcase, I paired it up with a lovely linen yarn in a pretty shade of lavender which I think works nicely with the background colour of the fabric, which is somewhere between blue and purple, like a periwinkle. Once I finished the pillowcase, I thought I'd have a bit of fun trying it out on a bed with some of my cuffed cushions which use vintage floral fabric; first, I threw it together with the one with the blowsy pink flowers...
...and then I tried it with the one with the cheery blue, violet and turquoise flowers...
...and then, lastly, why not throw in some lovely green into the mix!...
In case you may be wondering, I have listed this pillowcase in my Etsy shop here. I hope you enjoyed this bit of colour and pattern and I hope you'll pop by again... Thanks for the visit!
I can see why you had to have it! Perfectly paired with your choice of crochet trim!

I do love this fabric... pretty florals and gorgeous mix of colours. Just the thing for a dreamy pillowcase! Which looks just gorgeous with the green floral piled on top
