...due to a string of rainy and grey days has been taking its toll on my spirits of late, making me feel very sluggish and uninspired; so what to do to try to lift my spirits and counter all the gloominess? Well, why not pull out a basket of scrap yarn in cheery colours and crochet bunches and bunches of flowers! I call this type of exercise which makes me throw colours together and explore all sorts of yummy colour pairings "colour therapy" as it inevitably puts a smile on my face and inspires me to start creating again...

It always seems like I need some kind of jumpstart in January to set myself in motion again because I tend to get sick right after Christmas Day, which then leads to the inevitable slow start at the beginning of January... Hmmm, something I should definitely work at next year; maybe by being a bit more organized with all my Christmas preps and less stressed out, I just might not become the perfect target for all the bugs and viruses hopping around at this time of the year! What do you think? Hey, and is that not a good New Year's resolution!....

Now, I have to confess that I did also have a bit of an ulterior motive with my mass flower production... Do you recall the patchwork below which I first posted about here; while I haven't backed it yet, I've been thinking of how I could accessorize it. Perhaps a cushion or two adorned with crocheted flowers and a few crochet-trimmed pillowcases might work nicely to add to the look...

So, as you can see, the colours of my flowers are somewhat in tune with the patchwork, wouldn't you agree?...

As I'll show you in my next post next week, some of my January blossoms have already been put to good use; here's a sneak peek...

Before taking leave of you, I just wanted to share with you this photo I spotted in the February issue of Country Living (UK) because I'm so very inspired by it. I keep going back to it because I'm so drawn by all its delightful handspun details which make use of so many different crafts. All these crafty gems seem to blend together perfectly to give a look I absolutely love and definitely aspire to reproduce in my home. What do you think?... Eye candy, or what? I'd like to thank you for popping by and I do hope your new year has started on a good note!...
