...has awoken from its winter sleep (as you can tell by my Cornelian cherry tree just below with its riot of lovely yellow blooms!) and I think I am, albeit still a bit groggily, shaking off some late winter blues which have been dogging me recently because I've been so sickly (exasperatingly so!) in the last little while... The fact that we've had some lovely sunny spring weather this week as well as my nearing the end of an antibiotic prescription I was given to fight off an infection has finally brought back a bit of a bounce to my step...
And what am I doing with my new-found energy? Well, I decided to finish off all the many projects I have on the go, one at a time; I got going on too many of my ideas last year with the result that I still haven't finished a single one of them! It's high time for a bit of self-discipline I should think!....
So, what's on my list? First up, I've decided to complete my little bedding collection which I started about a year ago (Yikes!) and the crocheted work you see in this post are two cushion tops (same pattern, different colour streams) which I just finished up and which will be part of this collection. Do you remember these flower squares? Well, here they are again, 16 of them all crocheted together to make a cushion top; all I have to do now is back both tops with some yummy fabric I've been pulling out of my stash just for this purpose...
At the same time, I've also been busy putting together two patchwork tops (in two different colour streams again) which I will make coverlets with. As soon as the squares are all sewn together to make the patchwork, I will show you the tops (probably my next post). Once the coverlets and crocheted cushions are completed, I will just have to put the last touches to a stuffie/cushion to finish up this project and, at that point, I will be ready to share it all with you. I'm hoping that I'll have it all done by my daughter Nico's birthday in April because I think she would love to be gifted with some new bedding for her room...
Now, the great thing about finishing up this bedding project is that I will have a whole new batch of crochet-trimmed pillowcase styles ready to be listed in my Etsy shop; these have been ready for a while now but I've been holding off listing them because I want to show them to you all together with the other bedding items in my little collection. I know I've been promising new styles to those of you who have been writing to me asking when I will have some, and so, yes, they are definitely on their way... (Thanks for your patience!)
I've also been receiving notes from some of you wondering when the patterns I promised to put together for you (in particular the pattern for crochet-trimmed pillowcases) will be done. So, once my bedding collection is done, I will concentrate on my pattern-writing projects, with the one for the pillowcases being first on the list. Yup, it's all coming -- you just have to be very patient with me because I tend to be so very scattered with all my ideas! Now, that I've laid out my work plan for the immediate future, I think I should run and get a move on it! Thanks so much for visiting and I do hope you'll be back to see my patchwork tops...
delicious cushions tops!!!!!!
welcome back and take care, xxxxxxx Ale

It's always so reassuring to read a post like this and realise it's not just me. I have way more projects on the go than I actually have time for. I'm just now working on finishing a play tent that was "mostly" done for Xmas and has been languishing in my studio since then. I promised my daughter I'd finish it in time for her birthday, so deadlines definitely help me get started again.

Glad your on the mend. (been down myself with a nasty head cold.) Look forward to seeing all the WIP's becoming Ta-dah moments here. I couldn't begin to count the unfinished projects I have, or how long they've been that way, so you're w-a-y ahead of me.lol

Ooo, I have the best plans to finish off some makes, some started well over a year ago, and somehow get distracted. Do hope you stay strong! Pretty springtime crochet...

I love the pillow tops. Is there a pattern for your square? It is the best!

What kind of wool do you use?
I'd love to have a pattern even if I need to pay a bit.
