...to all of you and to the month of August! This is a very quickie post to tell you that I'm still around and that I haven't fallen off the edge of the earth, but just come back from a fabulous holiday in Barcelona, Spain, and the Loire Valley and Normandy in France; my mind is bursting with so many incredible images which I'd love to share with you, but first I have to get my bearings back and get things organized to spend the next few weeks at our cottage by the lake. 'So glad to be back blogging -- thanks for popping by!...
P.S. The mosaic above is a little closeup from the Banc de Trencadís, an amazing very long tiled bench found in Gaudi's enchanting Park Guell in Barcelona... Aren't the colors and composition so very inspiring?! (I think this color scheme which I'm so drawn to was often used in 50's and 60's fabric -- wouldn't you agree?)
Fabulous indeed! I went to Barcelona with my family last October and we had a wonderful time. Even in October we were able to dip our toes in the sea, eat seafood in the sun, and picnic in Park Guell.
That turquoise blue in the mosaic seems particularly 50s/60s to me. Both my grandmothers decorated with it and it's always been one of my favourite colours.

The mosaic is very pretty. I remember studying about Gaudi in college, but have never been to Spain. It's a coincidence that just last night I was looking up photos on the internet of Normandy as I've been reading a lot of WWII books this summer.

Beautiful!
Oh, I hope you're going to have some more pillow cases here soon! It seems I miss them every time you have some for sale, and I've been wanting them forever! I love them!
