...and I haven't written a single post yet...Yikes! It's not that I have nothing to say or show you (quite the contrary...), but lack of time and the feeling of being constantly rushed rule my daily life! I do like to have bigger blocks of time when I put together a post and somehow these seem to be fewer and far between as each month goes by.
Having said that, October so far has been a bit different than most months because I spent most of the first half of it anxiously following my 14-year-old daughter, Stefania, and her soccer team's exploits at the Canadian National Soccer Chamionships in Monton, New Brunswick. I have to confess that being in Vancouver, over 4000 km from all the soccer action in Moncton (my husband made the journey to Moncton), was a pretty nerve-wracking experience; because of the 4-hour time difference, I kept waking up in the middle of the night when they had early morning games (I am a mother, right?!) and when my husband phoned during the games, I always answered with my heart up my throat, wondering if we scored or got scored against...(One can really lose one's head when it comes to sports!) Nevertheless, I survived the ten days and practically jumped out of my pants when my husband called me to tell me that they had won the final and claimed the national title for their age group! Yay! Here's a shot of the team (Stefania with the arrow pointing down on her) -- what a bunch of healthy, happy smiles!

Despite all this trepidation and excitement, pillowcase-making has been on track this month as you can see from the first photo, and I'll hopefully be able to list some new ones in my Etsy shop in the near future. I've also been working on a woolly project which I want to show you and, with Halloween around the corner, costumes will have to get stitched up soon... I have a request from my 8-year-old for a Little Red Riding Hood costume -- have you seen any good Little Red Riding Hood ideas or patterns anywhere? I do plan on showing you what I've put together for Halloween, before Halloween... hopefully! See you then...
