...since it's been cold and rainy in Vancouver in the last little while (today we finally had more sun than clouds so I'm desperately hoping that this dismal system is finally behind us!), I decided to retreat into my basement work space to do a bit of a cleanup. (I honestly think that I spend more time folding and organizing my fabric collection than actually working with it -- perhaps it has something to do with the sheer extent of it?!)
While digging in a long-forgotten corner, I came across a a few boxes containing fabric squares which I had cut several years ago when I use to sell a lot of patchwork baby blankets at farmer's markets. I cut these about 4 1/2 inches square, from a yummy assortment of vintage cotton and 50/50 percale sheeting (some more gently used than others), pillow ticking and prints, as well as newer fabric. Given that I just don't think I will get around to using these in quite a while (and I desperately need more space for things!), I thought I would offer some of these up to you in the form of a giveaway -- at least one packet, about 1/2 lb or about 120 squares (possibly more than one packet depending on your response!) in a similar assortment to the one pictured in these photos. So if you're in the mood to make a little quilt, cushion or simply add a lot of pretty different prints to your stash, just leave a comment here before next Thursday (June 10).

it's been so long since i paid a visit! how delicious are these squares! I need to do some spring cleaning myself.

Are you sure you can part with them? They are so beautiful and very pretty. I'd be more than willing to give them a good home and turn them into a lovely quilt. Thanks for such a wonderful giveaway and keep cleaning, who knows what other treasures you may find.

Those fabrics are so happy! I can think of a lot of quilt patterns that would really show off those prints, like Schnibbles, have been collecting those patterns and need some of that pretty fabric to sew up a quilt. Thanks for the opportunity!

Such soft pretty fabrics! I think the quilts you sold at the market would have been very loved by those who bought them.

I just bought my daughter's toddler bed today, and was wondering how I was ever going to choose the right fabrics for her quilt, but those are perfect! It would be my first quilt, so the fact that those are already cut would probably save me from lots of mistakes!

What beautiful colors! I would make a quilted pillowcase out of them and then crochet it like you do. Yummy!

Hi! Lovely colours. Ia m just about to throw myself into my first patchwork project. It is going to be a simple sofa cover spread made of squares and I just don't know where to begin. Any advice on a good book to start with just to get the basics? It would be VERY helpful. Any information indeed would be helpful. So excited about it, especially when I know see you starting on one.
ANd now going back reading the text I see you are giving these pretty squares away! I am in! I am in! Fingers cross (although I never win but hey, I am just delighted to see tehse yummie bits and pieces here on your blog...)

It always amazes me when someone is generous and courageous enough to give away some of their beautiful fabric! These squares would make a beautiful baby girl's quilt, which probably comes as no surprise as I'm sure that is what their original intention was!

the weather is horribly dreary here too!
