...is the name of this new fabric collection from Moda which is in the shops already, or will be there very soon. I first saw samples of it before Christmas, and then I saw this over at Kathy's lovely blog, Cherry Blossom Hill Studio. As Kathy mentions, the main floral print is a Cath Kidston wannabe: not quite Cath's bubble rose print, but definitely a cheaper option! I've been resisting preordering any of the "Swell" fabric, but when I saw the very pretty photo of the quilt made up with it in her post, all my resolve to stop buying or ordering any new fabric for the next little while immediately crumbled; if you look at the photo closer (follow the link in Kathy's post for a larger view), ric rac is used along some of the stitch lines -- I like that! So, off I went to my local Moda fabric wholesaler, hoping that I would find something to satisfy my "Swell" craving... There were no bolts as of yet, but on a shelf were sitting a couple of fat quarter "Swell" bundles; now I'm not in the habit of buying fat-quarter bundles, but how could I resist this pretty one?! If I can get myself to undo its prettiness, I will use some of the bundle's smaller scale prints for kerchiefs for my next babushka batch...
By the way, have you seen Cath Kidston's fresh new spring catalog? Yum! 'love those new prints...
How pretty. :) Love those colors.

That is so pretty! I think that people in Montreal are not into quilts because I never saw fat-quarter bundles (or simply fat-quarters). Maybe it's a good thing...better for my budget!!! Have a good weekend :)

So nice, isn't it? I love Cath Kidston too, very much, but I did not try her fabrics yet..there is Pastel Antique Flower Collection by Lecien fabrics, that makes me remember Cath Kidston. I am crazy to put my hands on a fat quarter bundle...75 bucks...eeeeeeh.
Xoxo

What a beautiful (and neat!) stack of fabric. It just begs to be played with in fun ways.

Yes, this fabric is a very "close" Cath Kidston interpretation! I was looking at this collection on the Moda Website back over Christmas and even pointed it out to my husband how "similar" it was! He, being a guy and not really into fabric - didn't see what all the flap was about. It is a great and more affordable option! I always love Cath's colour palettes.
