...while thrift shopping this summer was a very special treat -- isn't she precious! Despite having suffered a frightful fall at some point in her otherwise very pampered life, her porcelain complexion is still rather lovely...Now, I wonder if she once had companions who partook in her many shady strolls through the park, and dainty tea parties on her manicured lawns -- perhaps, a miss buttercup, miss lily and a miss bluebell......What do you think?
....that's pretty much how I'm feeling lately as I'm still sorting through messy mounds of fabric in my basement work space. While on holidays, I decided that I had to do some serious paring down and organizing of my rather, ahem, extensive fabric collection; it's gotten to the point where I think I'm spending more time managing it, then actually sewing with it. So, yes, if there's any doubt about whether I should keep a piece of fabric or not -- it's gone...well, more or less...
I will be taking a little break from my fabric though, as I'm heading out on a little camping trip with the kids tomorrow -- just me and the girls -- should be fun! I'll be back next week to show you some delightful little treasures I recently found at a thrift shop...Hope you all have a great weekend!
We had a blast!....The days were all sunny and warm, not too hot, yet perfect for swimming and boogie boarding in the ocean which was also just at the right temperature...mmmm...real summertime bliss...I miss it so already! Aside from the requisite trip to Disneyland, we pretty much hung out at the beautiful beaches or horsed around in pools. What more can I say...a perfect family holiday best described by the wide grins in the photos: the pink beach babushka is 9-year-old Alexandra, and the freckled barefoot golden princess is 7-year-old Eva.
Thank you for all your great comments on my last post and SoCal travel tips! I have yet to reply to any of them, or for that matter, to any of my e-mails because I'm still having to re-group after the holidays -- you know, all the boring stuff: unpacking, laundry, groceries, on and on...But that's why all your comments are so wonderful: they truly motivate me to get all those things done quickly so I can start working on the fun stuff like the woolly house cushions - blogging never ceases to amaze me!
I have a big bunch of fabric to re-organize in the next few days and then I hope to show you some more progress on my woolly houses...
